Spooky Fundraiser Fun

Next week I’ll donate my time to entertain at one of my most favorite fundraisers of the year:  the Chantilly High School Haunted House.  The money raised from this event supports the girl’s soccer and field hockey teams at this northern Virginia high school.

This upcoming show got me thinking about magic, witchcraft, and the occult, which led me to discover this new Master’s program offered by the University of Exeter in Britain.

Upon acceptance and for 12,000/year, a student can now become an expert in the “history of witchcraft, magic in literature and folklore, deception and illusion.”

Sign me up!

Hypnotic Experience Live and On-Stage on March 21 @ Fairfax High School

UPDATE (MARCH 13) - UNFORTUNATELY THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE SHUT DOWN OF THE FAIRFAX COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.

On the evening of Saturday, March 21 the place to be in the Washington, DC area is the performance center at Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia.  I take the stage at 7 PM for a family friendly comedy and hypnosis show to raise money for the school’s All Night Graduation Party (ANGP) to be held in June to recognize the class of 2020.

If you are a reader of this blog, you know I donate my time to support high schools in the region.  Whether it is performing at an after prom or ANGP, speaking on campus, or headlining a fundraiser, I prioritize any activity or event that provides students with the opportunity to be successful.

You can purchase tickets for the show here at this link.  Join me for a fun and festive show!

Hypnotic Experience for a Great Cause - Magruder HS Post Prom

Please join me on Wednesday, October 10 at 7 PM for a Hypnotic Experience show hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) at Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland.  All of the money raised from this event from ticket sales and concessions goes directly to help fund the school's post prom party, which will be held in May 2019.

Readers of this blog know that each year I donate my time to support the PTSAs at Montgomery County High Schools in their effort to provide students with a fun and safe environment as part of the prom celebration.  I help entertain on-site at the post prom and also perform comedy shows for fundraising.

The Montgomery County Project Prom/Graduation committee -- which Magruder HS is a part of -- does a wonderful job coordinating the efforts of schools in the county.

Come on out to Magruder on October 10.  It's an awesome school with a wonderful group of students and parents.

I'll do my best to make it a fun night!

2 Schools…2 Shows…2 Wonderful Causes

I have performed my Hypnotic Experience show more than 40 times this year with each venue presenting new, interesting and exciting challenges.

Along the way I’ve met a wonderful group of people -- event organizers, educators, PTSA reps, professionals, and college, high school and middle school students.  It has been a blast!

The past few days has been the culmination of an amazing year as I headlined a fundraiser hosted by Churchill High School and then visited with students at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School as part of a series of events to promote health and wellness.

“The turn-out was fabulous and I heard great things so far from students who attended, especially from those who volunteered.  You’ve been so generous with your time and energy.  Thank you for being flexible about our approach to organizing the day.  The voluntary workshops are new for us and we are energized about continuing the effort to promote skills, joy and a mindset of wellness for our community.  You’ve been a great contributor to that effort and we are grateful.”

Hypnotic Experience this Friday at Churchill High School

As readers of this blog know, I donate my time to entertain and speak at colleges and high schools in the Washington, DC area.  I perform my Hypnotic Experience show at after prom and all night graduation parties.  I speak on campus as part of the psychology and health curriculums.  And I support fundraising activities hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).

Perhaps most rewarding is when I have an opportunity to support the athletic department at an area school.  Competitive athletics instills valuable attributes related to confidence, discipline, teamwork and perseverance, while promoting a healthy and productive lifestyle.  I was a multi-sport athlete growing up and my children now participate in youth basketball and baseball programs.

Last month I entertained at a Haunted House hosted by the girls’ soccer and field hockey teams at Chantilly High School.  It was an awesome time!

On Friday, December 1 at 8 PM, I take the stage at Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland as the featured entertainer at a fundraiser for the school’s athletic department.  You can find information about the show on the athletic department Web site at this link.

I encourage you to join for me a fun night with an important cause – helping student athletes at an exceptional school.

Seneca Valley Gets Hypnotized for After Prom

Educators, school administrators and parents share a common passion -- to provide kids with the academic, social and athletic opportunities that pave a path for success in life.

This is why donate my time each year to support schools in the Washington, DC region.  I see it as an investment in the future of the community where I reside with my family.  Plus, it is personally rewarding to help those who have such an important mission.

Readers of this blog know that I speak on campus to psychology and health students.  I entertain at after prom and all night graduation parties hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).  And I perform at fundraisers that benefit schools.

This past Friday I had the opportunity to headline an event hosted by the PTSA at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD.

It was a wonderful show, with an engaged audience and an awesome group of volunteers.  I also had the privilege of meeting the school's principal and assistant principal, both of whom attended my Hypnotic Experience show with family members.

All of the proceeds from this event will be put to use by the PTSA to help fund the school's after prom party in May.  A great night...a great school...and a great cause.

Check out the tweets below about the show.

2 Great Shows to Check Out This Week

Nearly three years ago I shifted my focus as an entertainer from stand-up comedy to a fun, family friendly, informative and (most important) unique hypnosis show.

Rather than a carnival-like atmosphere, my goal is for the volunteers and audience to gain an appreciation for the practice of hypnosis and visualization.  I want to dispel the misconceptions about hypnosis, and focus on its use as a tool for health, wellness, happiness and success.

I’ve since created a myriad of versions of “Hypnotic Experience” to address the needs of a specific audience.  There’s a comedy show for high school after proms and college social events; strolling entertainment for street fairs and community festivals; and even a more academic version for psychology and health classes.

This week I have two performances lined up that I’d like to invite you to attend:

Wednesday, June 25 from 6 PM to 9 PM

This is one of my most favorite charitable events of the year because GreenWheaton is such a fabulous organization with such an important mission.  Unlike other more policy oriented environment groups, GreenWheaton works at the grassroots level helping businesses and households adopt more sustainable practices.

I performed as a strolling entertainer at last year’s gala and had a wonderful time.  Here is a write-up of my experience sharing hypnosis with attendees.

Please consider attending this event by purchasing a ticket at this link.  Type in the promo code GREEN and you’ll receive a discounted rate on the ticket.

Hosted by Carr Workplaces on Friday, June 27 at 12 PM (includes lunch)
1750 Tysons Boulevard, Suite 1500, McLean VA

I’ll lead an entertaining discussion about how busy professionals can harness visualization as a tool for:

--Relaxation and stress management
--Better and more restful sleep at night
--Inspire self-confidence
--Healthier eating habits
--Focus and concentration at work
--More energy and positive outlook on life

This is a complimentary event offered by Carr Workplaces and...yes...it includes lunch.  Please message me at m.russell.hausman@gmail.com if you'd like to attend and I will make all of the arrangements.
