Story of Hypnosis in Party and After Prom Photos

This is a wonderfully fun and exciting time of the year for me as my performance schedule fills with high school after prom and graduation parties, community festivals, street fairs and charitable fundraisers.

This season I'm part of the entertainment at events hosted by Parent Teacher Student Associations (PTSA) at the following high schools:

--Magruder
--Blake
--Rockville
--Blair
--Poolesville
--George Marshall
--Oakton

Included below are photographs from a recent show at a chocolate and wine tasting party and an after prom party at Magruder High School in Rockville, Maryland.

The caption included with each photo describes the scene and its relevance.

My entertaining pre-talk defines hypnosis and creates expectations for what is to come during the show.

How suggest-able are you?  This is a deepening technique to bring a volunteer into a more relaxed state.

Sleep now!  Hypnosis is a completely natural state defined by a heightened sense of focus, concentration and creativity.

Casino games is standard fare at high school after prom parties.

Magruder's after prom had a "beach" theme.  Parents decorated the school with landmark retailers located in Ocean City, MD.

Two Hit Shows; Two More this Weekend

Guests at the chocolate and wine tasting party who gave hypnosis a try.

This past weekend I took the microphone at two distinct venues.  Although the environments were unique, both Hypnotic Experience shows were well received and successful.

On Saturday evening, I was the featured entertainment at a chocolate and wine tasting party.  It was an intimate gathering of about 15 adults who share an interest in health, wellness and environmental sustainability.

I wove those themes into my pre-talk and then incorporated a couple of health-focused visualizations into the post-hypnotic suggestions.

Sunday marked my return to the Chinatown Cultural Center in Washington, DC for an event hosted by the 30s/40s Meetup Group.  This is one of the most profile social groups in the region.  Their events are always well organized and attract an exceptional group of attendees.

One of the most enjoyable parts of my relationship with this meetup group is the near real-time feedback I receive from those who gave hypnosis a try.  The event graded out at 4.71 stars out of 5 (not bad!) and I’ve included below a few specific comments from attendees.

On Friday evening, April 24 I’ll entertain customers at Peterson’s Ice Cream Depot in historic Clifton, Virginia.  This is a wonderful family owned business that recruits local performers and talent to create a fun experience.

Peterson's Ice Cream Depot  is open to the public, so I encourage you to join me for some tasty ice cream and the Hypnotic Experience.  I’ll be on-site starting at about 6:30 PM.

Saturday night/Sunday morning the after prom party season kicks off for me at Magruder High School in Rockville, MD.  I am one of the featured entertainers at an event that will attract more than 300 kids.

30s/40s Meetup Group Member Hypnosis Comments

“I was extremely relaxed on the way home. Big shift from the way I felt on the way in. I do wish we'd spent a bit more time on how to use the technique ourselves. This was just thrown in at the end and we didn't talk real process/application.

But Marc was funny, personable, approachable, kind, and clearly good at what he does. Overall very enjoyable. Just add in 10 mins about the "do it yourself" part and it would be perfect.

Thanks to Marc for his time and sharing his expertise and to JT for setting it up.”

“Marc was very nice and I quickly warmed up to him. I wasn't expecting the hypnosis to work but it did! I felt an emotional release.”

2 Weekend Shows - Chocolate, Health and Hypnosis

Super cool!  Invite to my performance at chocolate and wine tasting party.

The next few months are the fast-paced time of the year for my Hypnotic Experience show.  I’m fortunate to have a myriad of high school after prom and graduation parties, community festivals and charitable fundraisers set on my performance schedule.

The action kicks off this weekend with two shows, one of which has tickets available for purchase.

Saturday, April 18 at 3:30 PM:  Chocolate, Wine and a Hypnotist

A private party that features a chocolate and wine tasting – how cool is that!  Even better, the couple who booked me to perform made a contribution to the after prom committee at Springbrook High School.

Sunday, April 19 at 6 PM at the Chinatown Cultural Center in Washington, DC

Hosted by one of the premier social meetup groups in the Washington, DC area, this performance will focus on the health, wellness and exceptional living benefits that can be achieved through hypnosis.

The venue is conveniently located and metro accessible, and I suspect the guests will be engaged.  This show continues a long-standing relationship I maintain with the group’s organizer.

You can join the 40 professionals who have signed up to attend the event by visiting the promotional Web page for the show

I attracted a wonderful group of volunteers at last year's Hypnotic Experience show for the 30s/40s Meetup group.

Unexpectedly Hypnotized

With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology, she was interested in witnessing a hypnotic induction.  Little did she know the witness would soon become an active player.

As I took her co-worker through the process with a focus exercise and series of relaxing visualizations, I noticed the psychology grad all became entranced.  Her breathing slowed rhythmically and her eyes grew heavy.

At the conclusion of a beach themed visualization I introduced the word “sleep” as a trigger to deepen the state of relaxation and transition to hypnosis.  Her co-worker dropped instantly.  She too followed the suggestion.

I’m often asked if everyone can be hypnotized.  Although there are distinct levels of suggestibility, the answer is “yes…as long as a person is open to it.”  To experience the productive power of hypnosis and positive visualization, all a person needs is the ability to focus and concentrate, as well as a healthy level of creativity.

It is for this reason that hypnosis is particularly effective for students, athletes, artists, entertainers and professionals.

In fact, at my Hypnotic Experience shows my most engaged and creative participants often come from the audience – rather than volunteers.  They are such wonderful visualizers that they seamlessly slip into hypnosis simply by focusing on my voice.

Now, back to the student of psychology who was unexpectedly hypnotized.  I took her and her co-worker through a series of visualizations to stimulate physical health and emotional well being.

The session was incredibly effective and meaningful – even if unattended.

During my Hypnotic Experience show at the Burke Centre Festival a volunteer responds to a sleep suggestion.
