Golfer Sweetens Her Swing with Hypnosis

Golfer Lydia Ko uses hypnosis as a tool for focus and performance. (Photo source: Fox Sports)

Lydia Ko is a prodigy.  She is a once in a generation talent.

The slight golfer from New Zealand has the potential to redefine the sport.  She won a LPGA tournament at the age of 15. She became the number one ranked player in the world at 17.

What has been the secret to Ko’s dramatic and unprecedented rise in professional golf?

This article published by ESPN captures her journey from obscurity in New Zealand to the highest level of performance on professional ranks.

Perhaps most interesting and innovative is Ko’s training with her mental performance coach, David Niethe.

"Lydia has been hypnotized many a time by me," Niethe explains in the ESPN article.  “We would use hypnosis if we deemed we needed to.  There was a lot of action, reflection, deciding strategies. We'd talk about something, then try to make it a habit."

Celebrating a 5 Star Show

Engaged audience during my pre-talk about the health and wellness applications of hypnosis.

Entertainment is all about the audience.

A performer needs to connect, engage, read the vibe and do everything possible to ensure guests have a fun and fulfilling experience.

After six years and more than 100 shows, I’ve come to appreciate the challenge this task presents.  I’ve had great shows…OK shows…and…yes…even total misses.

That is why positive feedback from guests is always so welcomed and appreciated.  Below are a few guest comments from my Hypnotic Experience show earlier this month at the Chinatown Cultural Center in Washington, DC.

It’s also important to note the show was graded as five stars by guests.  This is the highest possible rating.

Many thanks to the 20s/30s Group for hosting me for a fourth year in a row!

Holly: Marc was really great. I liked that the show focused on the health and wellness side of hypnosis.
Shelly:  Very informative session. Marc made the presentation entertaining, while explaining the benefits of hypnosis.
Sean Hunbar Tóth: Funny, engaging, entertaining, educational, intriguing, and more.
Matthew: Interesting! I can see this as useful tool in learning to deal with stress. Thanks Marc!

Good Hypnotic Vibes from Weekend Shows

Hypnotized!  A group of dental hygienists allow themselves to enter a deep and wonderfully relaxing state of trance during a show this past Saturday.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of performing the health and wellness version of my Hypnotic Experience show for two interesting, yet strikingly different groups.

Saturday found me at the Army Navy Club in Arlington, Virginia to present to more than 40 dental hygienists who live in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.  I was connected with the group via an interview I conducted and published on this blog with the president elect of the DC Dental Hygienists Association.

Sunday evening I returned to the Chinatown Cultural Center in Washington, DC for an event hosted by the 20s/30s Meetup group, which has nearly 30,000 total members.  This was my fourth year partnering with the organizer of this group and I continue to be well received by his members.

In fact, last night’s show was a sell-out with a group of successful, driven and career-oriented young professionals in attendance.

Here are links to articles I have published in previous years about my performances for the 20s/30s:

I’ve included below links to more information about each of my shows this weekend, as well as kind words from an organizer and volunteer.

I have two public shows currently on the calendar next month – April 12 in Washington, DC and April 28 in Manassas, VA.  Message me at m.russell.hausman@gmail.com if you’d like more information about either.

“Thanks for such a great presentation. It was really outside of the box and very different. It was a good way to end the event.”
