Burke Centre Festival is Sept. 8/9 and It's Awesome

After the performance intensity of high school after proms and all night graduation parties, I scale back on my entertainment schedule during the summer.  This affords me an opportunity to refresh, as well as develop new content for the Hypnotic Experience show.

I make two BIG exceptions: 1) Arlington County Fair in August; and 2) Burke Centre Festival which is scheduled for September 8/9 in Burke, Virginia.  Both events are community oriented and include a wonderful collection of locally-based entertainment – all of which is free for guests.  It’s a privilege for me to support these events.

I’ve included below links to articles I have authored about the Burke Centre Festival during the past five years.  I invite you to the Festival and encourage you to check out the Hypnotic Experience.   I’ll perform a series of mini-shows each day.

They Got Hypnotized at the Arlington County Fair

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that is defined by focus, concentration, creativity and enhanced suggestability.

What a wonderful weekend at the Arlington County Fair!

I wanted to be sure to thank the entertainment committee for including my Hypnotic Experience show on the indoor stage.  I had an excellent turn-out for the show and a great group of volunteers -- ranging in age from mid 60s to under 10.

Unlike a typical comedy hypnosis show, I focus on the power of positive thinking to help a person realize a happy, healthy and productive life.  I include a couple of jokes and a few entertaining anecdotes, along with a demonstration of hypnosis.

I've included below a couple of photos I captured at the Fair while on-site with my family.

My next community fair appearance is at the Burke Centre Festival in northern Virginia on September 8 and 9.  I'll perform a series of mini-shows during both days of the event and there is no cost to attend.

Chocolate covered frozen cheesecake...yum!  That is a low calorie treat, right? (smile)

Everyone loves the ferris wheel!

Will I See You at the Fair?

I am thrilled to share that I am part of the entertainment at the Arlington County Fair, which kicks off next week at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center in Arlington, VA.  My Hypnotic Experience show is scheduled for Saturday, August 18 at 7 PM on the Indoor Stage.

There is no cost to attend the event which gives you access to all of the music, performances and…of course…the super popular racing piglets.  There is also a midway with rides and games, as well as a wonderful collection of food options.

Message me by Email at m.russell.hausman@gmail.com if you plan to attend.  It will be great so say "hi" before the show.

Sales Success with Neuro Linguistic Programming

Attendees of my Hypnotic Experience show are often stunned to learn they typically experience hypnosis three or four times a day.  Getting lost in your thoughts or day dreaming is one example.  Having a smell or sound bring back a memory is another.

Hypnosis is a natural state.  By understanding how the mind collects and processes information, a person can be more effective and successful in all aspects of their life, including in career and professional accomplishments.

Here is an example.  Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach employed by sales professionals to establish a connection with a potential customer.  There is no magic to it.  NLP is all about establishing trust, which is the foundation of a business relationship.

This article published on LinkedIn provides a good overview of NLP and its applications for today’s career-focused sales professional.

A Fun and Entertaining Definition of Hypnosis

Each academic year I speak on campus to psychology students at high schools in Montgomery County, Maryland about hypnosis as an altered state of consciousness.

My introductory remarks demystify the practice of visualization and present the applications I focus on, which include:

-Stress management
-Confidence
-Athletic performance and injury recovery
-Creativity
-Focus and concentration in school or on the job
-Changing unwanted behaviors or phobias

Included below is a video of my talk capture a few years back by a psychology instructor. What do you think? Informative? Entertaining?
