Hypnosis Helps Soccer Star Rediscover Scoring Touch

Andre-Pierre Gignac...hypnotized!  (Photo source:  Football.fr)

Here is an interesting read published by ESPN.com about how an international soccer star turned to a hypnotist to improve his performance on the field.

Although the hypnotist is bound by a confidentiality agreement and could not speak to the specifics of the session, he does allude to the importance of focus and visualization.

Seneca Valley Gets Hypnotized for After Prom

Educators, school administrators and parents share a common passion -- to provide kids with the academic, social and athletic opportunities that pave a path for success in life.

This is why donate my time each year to support schools in the Washington, DC region.  I see it as an investment in the future of the community where I reside with my family.  Plus, it is personally rewarding to help those who have such an important mission.

Readers of this blog know that I speak on campus to psychology and health students.  I entertain at after prom and all night graduation parties hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).  And I perform at fundraisers that benefit schools.

This past Friday I had the opportunity to headline an event hosted by the PTSA at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD.

It was a wonderful show, with an engaged audience and an awesome group of volunteers.  I also had the privilege of meeting the school's principal and assistant principal, both of whom attended my Hypnotic Experience show with family members.

All of the proceeds from this event will be put to use by the PTSA to help fund the school's after prom party in May.  A great night...a great school...and a great cause.

Check out the tweets below about the show.

3 Meaningful Life Changes with Hypnosis

Talking hypnosis for health with members of the 20s & 30s social group. (Photo credit: JT Yaung)

This past Saturday I had the opportunity to entertain a group of exceptional professionals who are members of Washington, DC based social organization called the 20s & 30s Going Out Group.  I have a long-standing relationship with the group’s founder and organizer.  We’ve worked together on events for five years.

For the 20s & 30s I perform the health and wellness version of my Hypnotic Experience show because the topics and themes resonate with the audience.  It’s all about how visualization can be employed to manage stress, grow confidence and promote exceptional living.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the evening was the individual discussions I had with attendees after the show.  A number of people were intrigued and wanted to discuss how the practice of self-hypnosis could help them achieve specific goals.

I won’t go into specifics in this blog post, yet the nature of these individual chats could be segmented into three categories.  Hypnosis as a tool to:

1. Manage chronic pain or discomfort

2. Promote healthier lifestyle choices (i.e. eating, smoking cessation, etc.)

3. Motivate or inspire action or activity in career or personal relationships

My view is consistent across each of these areas.  Although certainly not magic or a replacement for traditional medicine, hypnosis creates an expectation of health, happiness and success.  That is the foundation to feel empowered.

Next up for me is a fun and family friendly show the evening of Friday, January 13 at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD.  It is a super cause as the money raised from this event will help fund the school’s after prom party in May.  Learn more about the show and purchase tickets online at this link.

5 Most Popular Articles of 2016

For five years I have written on this blog about hypnosis as a tool for health, wellness and exceptional living. The focus of my editorial has been to engage, educate and, when appropriate, entertain, while dispelling the misconceptions that exist about the practice of visualization.

I am incredibly appreciative of the time you’ve invested with me and for the Emails I have received from readers – both the compliments and the criticisms.  (Yes…I get those too.)

Today, I spent a few minutes reviewing a readership report for 2016.  I’ve included below links to the most popular articles I published this year, each of which attracted more than 1,000 visits.

Brady Bunch Actress was also a Trained Hypnotist

Last month actress Florence Henderson died at the age of 82.  Here is a link to the nice write-up about her life published by CNN.

Often referred to as “America’s mom” because of her portrayal of Carol Brady on the TV sitcom Brady Bunch, Henderson’s career spanned decades and included a myriad of television shows, movies and talk show appearances.

I was surprised to learn that Henderson was also a trained hypnotherapist.  She was introduced to the practice of hypnosis by her second husband, who helped Henderson rise above stage fright through the use of visualization.

Check out the video below of her interview last year with NBC Today Show host Matt Lauer.  Henderson’s discussion of hypnosis starts at 3:15 and she refers to it as a “wonderful tool.”
