Each year I donate my time to perform at after prom and all-nightgraduation parties hosted by the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) at high schools in the Washington, DC area.  For me, it is rewarding to help provide students with a fun (and safe) environment.

One of my most favorite schools is Sandy Spring Friends School in Maryland.  For the past four years I have been part of the entertainment at the school’s after prom and now – for the first time – I’ll perform at the schools’ FriendsFest.

The event (and my shows) are free to attend.  I’ve included below information about Hypnotic Experience, which has a health and wellness theme.

Hypnotist and comedian Marc Hausman believes so.  This fun, entertaining and family friendly 45 minute show is all about the power of positive visualization.

Marc is a Washington, DC based entertainer who performs at community festivals, high schools, colleges and charitable fundraisers.  He has performed at the Arlington County Fair, Georgetown University's Welcome Week for Students, the Marine Corp. Marathon Pep Rally, Burke Centre Community Festival, Northern Virginia Community College, Montgomery College, and more than two dozen high schools in the Washington, DC area.

Two Twists at this Weekend's Post Prom Hypnosis

The 2019 post prom season kicked off for me this weekend with an event hosted by Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS) in Maryland.

I have had the fortune of being part of the entertainment at SSFS’ Post Prom for the past four years.  It is a wonderful school with students, parents and administrators who are accommodating and appreciative.

My Hypnotic Experience attracted an engaged group of volunteers.  This year’s SSFS Post Prom had two interesting and unexpected twists.

1) Three of my best volunteers were students from Brazil whose native language is Portuguese.  The hypnotic induction I employ is based on guided meditation with extensive visualization.  As such, I often have limited success hypnotizing non-native English speakers.  However, these three students easily slipped into hypnosis and were successfully re-induced multiple times during the event.  They gave me excellent feedback on their experience with hypnosis.

2) For another volunteer, it was her third time at the SSFS post prom as she had attended the previous two years as the guest of a graduating senior.  Her experience with hypnosis has been different each time due to how she has matured as a person.         

Post Prom Season Kicks Off in Grand Style

This weekend I had the pleasure to entertain at the post prom party hosted by the parents at Sandy Spring Friends School in Suburban, Maryland.

More than 150 seniors and juniors gathered at one of the school's main buildings for food, movies, raffles, games, rides and...yes...me...a comedy hypnotist.

My "Hypnotic Experience" was incredibly well received by the students as I had more than 50 kids try hypnosis.  In fact, I was suppose to wind down at 2 AM, yet stayed on site for an additional hour because I had so much interest and enthusiasm.

Many thanks to the parents at Sandy Spring Friends School and congrats for putting on such a fabulous post prom celebration.  I hope to be included next year!
